Job Summary:
|
|
Performs laundry duties such as sorting,
folding, and weighing linen; operates non-domestic washers and driers. |
Qualifications:
|
|
Grade 10 plus two
years relates experience in commercial or industrial laundry or an equivalent
of education, training, and experience. |
1)
Loads
and unloads non-domestic washers and driers.
Operates driers by setting temperatures, switching on and off machines
and determining length of time of drying cycle.
2)
Establishes
standard temperature and cycle settings and quantities and type of wash
ingredient.
3)
Sorts
soiled linen and selects wash formula according to type of machine.
4)
Checks
machines regularly to ensure safe and effective functioning.
5)
Notifies
supervisor and/or maintenance of machine malfunctions.
6)
Sorts,
folds, counts, and records linen for control purposes.
7)
Issues
linen and maintains unit linen quotas.
8)
Weighs
linen, collects linen for user areas and distributes linen to user areas.
9)
Cleans
work area.
10)
Performs
other related duties as assigned.
